But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, 1 Peter 3:15

Bible, Books and Bones

Hello- this site is open for questions and discussions about theology, philosophy, and, if anybody wants it-orthopedic questions. I am an orthopedic surgeon, and an ordained minister in the Church of the Brethren. I am interested in evangelism, discipleship, and apologetics. Professionally, I do a lot of trauma, total joints, arthroscopy and sports medicine, and general orthopedics, (carpal tunnel and rotator cuff surgery). I live in Lancaster County PA, with my beautiful and amazing wife Gail, and my smart and lively stepdaughter Sierra. I am looking forward to many great discussions on this blog site, all leading to results that glorify God- jim

  3. Thanks for the invite. It will be fun to keep in touch and participate in this ministry with you!

So I never did get to discuss with you your mission trip. How did it go? What were the main challenges you faced. I'm very interested...just the other day Nate was saying maybe it's time to pack up the family and move to Africa for missions, I'm not sure if he was serious or trying to get Brett to eat dinner. :-)

Also I read a very interesting book 'Revolution in World Missions' by K.P. Yohannan (founder of Gospel for Asia). Have you read it? I found it very challenging in forcing us as a church to look at "How" we "do" missions (specifically foreign) and maybe what is more appropriate.

    Best Wishes.

  4. Hi everyone. The mission trip to Africa was good, but I had to talk about money to the patients before surgery. I have read "Revolution in World Missions", it is a great book. We get a copy every now and then because we support Gospel for Asia. Ryan- we can use the blog as a question and answer one-thanks. I hope everybody has a great weekend, and may we glorify God in all things-jim
